She released a record in Europe with those tunes as previously recorded with a great studio band. For some reason she decided to get a punk singer to play drums live. Well he would literaly destroy the drums every rehearsal and show up only occasionally to gigs or rehersals, as the cops were always after him. Her voice was always amazing, but she chose to play a 12 string tuned down a minor third, so i had to drop tune my base, since a lot was in "Eb." So the loose stringed instruments were totally pitchy in that NY summer air, and the rythmic chaos of the drums was just a noise backdrop I had to ignore, with her piercing full and beautiful vocal cutting through it all. It was something that musicians loved and others did not seem to understand. I had to weave the base and lead guitar while singing the back-ups, which she wanted over everything. And she added Spike vocals to punch choruses, which oddly worked, even though he is a pure demon voice. She was unbelievable. If you can get the studio record, it has Motor Oil on it. I did the male studio back-ups too. And I think she went with a punk trio because a group that could play the studio record would cost too much. It kills me that she has vanished, since the cops caught Spike that summer and put him away for 10 years.INTPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08936113470994962097noreply@blogger.com
